Moisture Management Tester (AATCC 195)

The Moisture Management Tester is a specialized instrument used to evaluate the moisture absorption and transport properties of fabrics, especially for high-performance applications such as sportswear, protective clothing, and medical textiles. It provides a comprehensive analysis of fabric moisture management to improve product quality and user comfort.

Working Principle:
The instrument simulates the interaction between fabric and moisture (such as sweat), and measures the following parameters:

  • Absorption Rate: Time required for the fabric to absorb liquid from the surface
  • Spreading Speed: Ability of the fabric to distribute moisture across its surface
  • One-way / Two-way Transport Capability: Direction of moisture movement (from inner to outer surface or vice versa)
  • Evaporation Rate: Time required for the fabric to dry after wetting

The system uses electronic sensors and dedicated software to collect and analyze data, providing accurate results within a short time.

Key Features:

  • Multi-dimensional measurement: Simultaneous evaluation of both fabric surfaces (skin side and outer side)
  • User-friendly interface: Integrated touchscreen for easy operation and monitoring
  • Automated operation: Automatic specimen detection, liquid dosing, and data analysis
  • Standards compliance: Conforms to AATCC 195, ISO, and ASTM standards

Applications:

  • Sportswear & functional textiles: Optimization of moisture-wicking performance for comfort
  • Medical textiles: Evaluation of fabrics for bandages and surgical garments
  • Apparel & home textiles: Improvement of fabric performance for clothing, curtains, upholstery
  • Quality control: Use in laboratories and manufacturing facilities
